How To Load The Dishwasher

how to load the dishwasher

How often do you load the dishwasher? Often? When it comes to loading the dishwasher, there may be a few things that could be loaded wrong that you aren’t even aware of. Read below for how to load the dishwasher.

Spray Arms

There are spray arms within the dishwasher that shoots water and detergent on dishes. If they are blocked and cannot move, then this results in a poor cleaning job. Notice when you put your dishes in the dishwasher if any of the larger items hit the spray arms. So to fix this problem, make sure there isn’t anything that could fall to the bottom. For example, for pots and pans, make sure to place them on the side so the handle doesn’t slip through and block the spray arm process.

Fragile Items & Dinnerware

Leave space in between fragile glasses and cups. The water does make them move around a little bit. So to prevent the glasses from knocking together and possibly breaking or cracking, leave a little space in between them.

Furthermore, don’t let dinnerware touch. Leave some breathing room for the plates, bowls and other dishes. The dishes won’t break, but dirt can get stuck in between, getting trapped. When placing bowls, cups or any other dish that can hold water, make sure to place them face down so the water can drain instead of sit.

Plastic

Keep plastic on the top shelf. The heating element is located toward the bottom of the dishwasher. Some tupperware is more fragile than others, so keep the plastic items on top away from the element. If plastic is placed at the bottom of the machine near the heating element, the plastic may deform and become unusable.

There isn’t a right or wrong way to load the dishwasher, but there are certain items to be aware of when you load.
